What happen to the Electric Car?

I know they exist, I've actually seen one a few years ago, so where are the Electric Cars. Oil is a finite resource, but at hand are at least a half-dozen ways to produce electricity. Over 50 million Americans have commutes that are 20 miles or less. An Electric Car owner could slickly get to and from work daily, and this technology is available RIGHT NOW! Hybrids help but nearby are gasoline engines with MPG ratings nearly as good. If Electric Cars were mass-produced, we could truly conclusion our dependence on foreign oil - and curb greenhouse gas emissions. If our government official are serious about ending our fuel crisis, wouldn't this be our BEST option at the moment?

I wouldn't want to buy/use an expensive piece of inefficient technology to be exact probably going to break down if I drive up a hill unless if I had to.

Yes I quite agree. I live within Sofia Bulgaria where there are 25,000 taxis adjectives running on methane gas. Their fares are so cheap its almost unbelievable. Its a fact that 70% of adjectives oil goes to producing petrol. What a saving that would be.

Best Answer: those cars be all scrapped. GM leased them and didn't supply one. They were the EV1 do a search and you'll find alot . There was even a documentary on PBS something like them. They had a 250 mile range (if I remember right) They would be selling great right now Huh?
