Is this a trick put somebody through the mill? What's not to love? Sign me up for that one. A concern I've had about electric cars is where the power comes from, since it's probably a coal plant that's supplying electricity to my home. Of course you say aloud it's cheap. We all have our definitions of cheap, but yeah, I come up with most people would love a car like that.

Absolutely, as long as it be less than $25k or $30k or so, not including the price of the solar/wind system for the house. The only things that would even slightly concern me would be: 1) Might not be good on road trips longer than 500 miles, since I don't want to stop for 3 hours newly to charge it, and where would I find a place to charge it. However, for a 2-car household, just take the other vehicle if you're going on long trips, so this isn't a problem for me. 2) With today's battery technology, to get 500-mile range, the motor would have to be ridiculously light, which is a safety concern beside all the semis and SUVs out there. But I'd still buy it, absolutely. I'm thinking just about the Tesla BlueStar or the Think Ox when/if those start being sold in the US.Where Can I buy an electric motor...
