Best Answer: The regulator is bad. Sounds close to a serious problem, but it's not. It's just that something in the gears/levers is broken. It's WAY to much trouble to fix yourself - you have to help yourself to the door panels off - so just lug it to a window specialty place (look in the yellow pages) or the pusher. It'll cost maybe $300. Ask around.

Sounds like a stripped window motor gear or a pane regulator web belt that has holes that are out of shape for the motor gear to align next to. If so, the door trim panel will have to be removed for an internal inspection.
