Would you buy an electric sports motor?

Despite what the movie family want you to think, electric cars were never perfected, ever. You wouldn't want to drive an EV-1, near its thousands of pounds of batteries and rock-hard motorcycle tires. Batteries are the problem, and they've been very slow to develop. Notice that you haven't see any Tesla roadsters anywhere, either. The Volt is being developed, but on the assumption that there will be a suitable mobile for it in the future, but there's no reason to believe that at hand will be one. Sorry: that's the way chemistry is. Computers and airplanes developed very fast. Batteries didn't.

Electric Car Design Efficiency??

Actually, they were not. Unless they be plugged into a wall with a long extension cord. Battery technology has come a long way, and is still not actual. It most certainly wasn't viable 20 years ago. They are indeed on the market, and have be, in increasing numbers. Hybrids as well. You should direct that question more to the 100mpg carb that get the patent bought and the idea squashed. While I doubt the 100 mpg, a 50 mpg system is and has be quite possible. Yes, to your question about the grease industry lobby. It has obviously affected the r&d on alternative for years. But very soon, even if shady deals don't come to light, the public demand will ensure the nouns of alternative fuels. Not sure which will become dominant, but hydrogen looks real good so far, as in fuel cell to charge a freestyle with zero pollution. The logistics are being weigh as I write this, as far as infrastructure vs cost. But new developments in the production of hydrogen are looking very promising, as far as cost, which is still other the bottom line, sadly.

Perfected is probably a bad choice of words. infernal combustion engines hold still not been perfected despite the huge development bugets; still piercing, clunky, high maintenance, low efficiency, complicated nouns & coolant systems etc; and dependant on highly refined fuel with long centralised supply fasten.. Electric cars were suitable for many applications 20 years ago; and even if they only replaced 10% of vehicle that would have been a significant saving contained by oil requirements, transport noise & street level pollution. My 20 year outmoded technology 205 with lead acid battery could do the national speed limit and had a range of 30 miles sufficient to find me to a choice of bus and rail transport hubs. This is in a rural not an urban setting. For longer range it would own been possible to tow a small generator (instant hybrid) a la tZero long ranger http://www.acpropulsion.com/tzero/ And once people drive an ev & enjoy the noiseless smooth, smell free experince they would have provided the demand & business case for investment by the worldwide car corps which has been so scarce.
