$300/week for all those services? That's seriously. You must be spending too much time on the phone. We spend about that a month on 2 cell phones, a home phone, cable and internet. We don't have TiVo, and don't really care to enjoy it. People didn't believe me when I said that cable tv used to be commercial free! Now you cannot even get any reception within my area without paying the cable company. Just that coverage cost about $30/month (basically acting as an antenna). I, in opposition, am into A&E, Court TV, HGTV, ect, and have to pay another $25 for that! Realize that this still does not give me any movie channel or HBO. That luxuray is another "level" and costs still more! If you have a monopoly you can charge whatever you want! I work for a cable company, and I have submitted many complaints to our marketing dept. for setting the prices they have. I agree that the pricing is ridiculous, but the source they set the pricing so high is due to the pricing of similar services. Unless satellite companies lower their prices, cable companies won't lower theirs. So basically, it's impossible to get them to lower their prices. Might I suggest working for a cable or satellite company? Everyone I verbalize to who works for the company directly either gets significantly discounted prices or gets adjectives the services for free.It's call greed.

Lol, liek you said AT&T broke up, so im guessing that in a minute all the monopolies that used to be capped by At&T are now raise prices as much as they feel like. For example, here in Texas, jsut give or take a few the only cable service i know about is TimeWarner. So if anyone wants to scrutinize cable, theyll have to pay what ever TimeWarner Cable feels resembling. Sure, cable was once free. Like the cocaine dealer says " the first sniff is free" and we fell for it. But the truth of the issue is they invested alot of money upfront before the first TV was turned on. All that equipment, wires and technology(which is always changing) costs big bucks, so they couldn't afford to afford it away forever. My gripe is the commercials. The reason cable became so popular was nearby wasn't as many commercials as broadcast but now it's 10 times worse than broadcast ever was and we hold to pay $80 a month. At least broadcast was free!Best Answer: You can phone up your cable company and tell them you're going to cancel the service, permanently, if they do not fall your rate or give your more service for the existing rate. There is something called a "retention rate" they can apply. Your best bet of getting that rate is to watch for foreign customer sign-up deals (promotions) on TV and call when you see one that sounds good to you, even if you are an existing customer. That passageway they have something they can code it to. (Most CSR's don't really know that much about options, don't hold much or any authority, and are often timed on how quickly they close calls. So you might want to name and immediately ask to speak with a supervisor.) One thing that help is if you really are willing to pull the plug. Last time I checked the public library was still free. You can also do alike thing with your mobile phone carrier, but you will hold much more leverage when your contract is close to expiring. Most of it is crap, and you can get a lot off the lattice these days, and watch movies on your computer if it has a DVD player, so you don't even obligation a TV. not trying to justify the big prices, but look at what you are getting for it. A TON of convience. not to mention the cell towers and thousands of miles of fiber optic cable, state of the art electronics, and a lot of well schooled family to make it all work together. None of that is cheap. You could other go to basic cable, its like $30 a month. And i did the math on what you said, and considering that you are getting 6 different services at indistinguishable time,(you never said how many cell phones, i assumed 2), you are paying less than $50 a month for each.
