Public records but... not all reports can be released to the public. Pending (or active) investigations usually are not available to the public. Also, child treat roughly / welfare investigations cannot be released to the public here in Oregon. Mental health holds / detox reports are another that may be restricted. Other than a few exceptions most reports are available to anyone who has a luggage number and the time / money to purchase a copy of the report. Personal information (social security number, etc...) will be blacked out. I had a stalking case a couple of years ago, where on earth i intentionally left the victim's information out of the report (except name and DOB). I did this because her stalker was obtain past police reports to find out where she had moved to. They way I've figured it out is that the running out result (the conviction) is public but not what led to the conviction. So... the papers will say you have be convicted by the judge and jury for burglary but the reason why they sent you to jail (i.e) will not be in attendance... Hope that helped.Related Questions:
