Are my medical copy public?

in other words, do i have access to them? if so..how in the H3LL do i capture them? i had a surgery i need to get info on style back when i was a kid and i havent a clue how to get it

are an individuals employment collection public copy?...

Contact the records dept. in the hospital you had the surgery within. They aren't public and you will probably have to sign something to get them. I ask for copies of the doctors/surgeons etc. notes respectively time I see someone. So I have access to current status all the time.

Does anyone know of an online source...

All you 'have to do' is tell your doctor that you want to see your medical records ... and you do NOT enjoy to have a 'doctor with you to interpret them' either. If you have a surgery when you were a child, then the 'hospital' where you have that surgery is the place you need to go to 'find out' about it ... and you may in recent times go to the 'information office' at the front desk and ask for directions to 'medical records' and explain 'what you want' and why you want it. Medical records are NOT 'public' but your medical records are ALWAYS begin to you ...

Best Answer: Kris is right. There is no such entry as Public records. However what is incorrect is that normally they do not release your medical records to you. Go to your doctor and enlighten him when you had surgery and where. You should request that a copy of the records be given to the Doctor. Some doctors will release them - some will not. Doctors and Hospitals will usually keep records for around 7 years. Beyond that they have them microfilmed and stored. Depending on how long ago the procedure took place is if you can retrieve your archives. Good luck.
