Does a TV satellite digi-box just wants monitor NOT a TV? If so how can one connect as monitors hold no SCART?

As we use exclusively Satellite TV, I have often wondered if there be a way of using computer monitors rather than actual TV's to view the output. But the connectors are different. Can it be done and is within a solution to the different connectors question. Even better would be a way to do it wirelessly with a video-sender - but again - video senders (and receivers) own SCARTS but monitors do not. Hope someone who understands the technicalities can help. Jeremy

Need endorsed direction on Satellite TV?

Computer monitors have a scan rate explicitly much higher than a TV. You need a special adapter to go from SCART to VGA that will electronically convert the TV signal to something that the computer monitor can use. It may be easier to outfit your PC next to a video-capture device and then use your PC as a TV.

How do I connect my Toshiba Satellite...

unless you own a TV card in your computer you will not get a picture because a monitor cannot convert the signal to show on the screen customarily the signal that comes out of a digi box is a normal TV signal or a HD signal and a monitor cannot work with this.

Best Answer: SCART to VGA cables are available, eg. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Free_UK_Delivery/Scart_to_VGA_SyncBlaster_Cable_37141/Scart_to_VGA_SyncBlaster_Cable_37141.htm
