yeast infection didnt walk away . . .?

I went to the doctor because I thought I had a UTI, it was awfully painful when I urinated and there was a touch blood. When I went to the doctor, he tested me and said that there were no signs of a UTI but I may own a yeast infection. He prescribed me Diflucan. I took one when I received the prescription, and I had to take the second pill 3 days later. I took the 2nd pill 3 days ago and it seem like it hasn't gone away. The pain from the urinating went away, but I'm exceptionally itchy down there...What could it be? And why did the medicine not work? What should I do?

is it a yeast infection or something...

Jackie, There could be several reasons that you are still itchy, the first that the medicine have not worked completely. You could try an over the counter medicine which would come with a cream to soothe directly. If however, you try that and still find that you are having problems, or if you develop discharge near a strange smell- you should make an appointment with your doctor again because it is possible that you had more than one type of infection. Good luck, hope you be aware of better.

Perhaps you are wearing the wrong underwear. It is best to leave much room for your private area to breath. Also, some birth control pills can cause yeast infections. And stress can rationale some yeast infections. But i think most commonly tight clothes such as silk panties and small jeans cause problems. A foreign object and douching can exact bacterial infections. Best Answer: You need to run back to the dr to let them know that you are still having symptoms and looked-for to find out from them what the next step is for trying to clear up these symptoms. It still sounds like a yeast infection to me and they may have to enjoy you try a different medication to see if that helps.
