Could this be a yeast infection or something else?

Ok i haven't had sex in 2 weeks and afterwards i was itchy and the subsequent couple of days I noticed a white cottage cheese like discharge. I still had the discharge but not as much but later i started my period so I thought thats why i have the discharge but now its approaching 4 days into my period and I have noticed these red spots, that are kinda dry flaky looking but don't really itch it only is irritated when they get wet, around my vagina like outside of it and on the crease of my inner thigh. Is this cause by a yeast infection which i thought i may have had in the commencing, I don't think its an std bc my partner doesn't hae anything and we've had sex many other times and this hasn't ever happen. If it is some type of infection can an OTC fix it?

Is it Yeast infection?

This does nouns like a yeast infection, except for the dry, flakey red spots. However, this could just be irritation from the sex. If you have never be diagnosed with a yeast infection before, your best best is to go see your doctor so that they can if truth be told rule out anything else, so that you do in fact get the right treatment. If it is a yeast infection, you can obtain stuff over the counter or they do have prescription strength medications available. Also, don't take any baths, try not to wear thong underwear, wear cotton underwear so you can "breathe" down here, try not to wear any swimsuits (at least not for a long time), stay away from tight fitting pants, and most importantly, if you are taking any antibiotics, call your doctor and stop taking them. Antibiotics can in actual fact increase the amount of yeast your body produces, therefore causing a yeast infection. If you can't get contained by to see your doctor right away, try using Vagisil. That should help ease the itching and pain. And stay away from sex until you are completely symptom free, as your partner can in actual fact get it too.

to australian woman: yeast infection?

Sounds close to a yeast infection to me. You can go to your local drug store and get "monistat 3" otc. It is not an std. Your husband can get it from you but it go away in a few days. Try and not to wear any tight clothes. This will give yourself a chance to "nouns out".... Holding in the heat and wearing tight jeans can also give you a yeast infection. Don't verbs, it's not the end of the world. There are some antibiotics that will give you one as well! Good luck...

Do i own a yeast infection,how to...

It sounds similar to a yeast infection, but don't just rely on what you get from Y!A. If you don't want to visit your gyno only just yet you could try taking cranberry pills and acidipholus pills. They both help destroy the yeast culture (the second is indistinguishable thing found in yogurt) and are safe and worthy for you anyways! You can get both at a vitamin store. Or if you dont want to take pills drink and eat the legitimate thing (I just HATE yogurt...so I cheat and use the pills instead! :oP). These two are the only article I've found to actually help yeast infections...all those OTC drugs and ones my gyno have prescribed wouldn't help it go away. But I take both those regularly and havent gotten any yeasties since.

How do i know if i hold...

"Cottage cheese" is how guys crudely refer to yeast infections, so... At the same time, the best advice is to see your doctor the first time you suspect a yeast infection to confirm that's what it is; after that, you can simply head for the OTC remedies. You'll find this same advice on the boxes of the OTC remedies!
